Launched in conjunction with World Breast Cancer Awareness Day on October 19, the campaign witnessed broad community participation, reaching a total of 1,544 beneficiaries through its awareness, medical, and cultural activities. These were followed by clinical examinations conducted in a designated space that ensured privacy and confidentiality.
According to the campaign report, all individuals examined were found to be in good health.
The event also featured traditional and cultural performances celebrating women’s strength and resilience, alongside the distribution of pink ribbons and communal tea and coffee gatherings.
These activities aimed to promote psychosocial support, strengthen community solidarity, and help break the barriers of fear and stigma associated with breast cancer.
Ms. Alaa Majid, Protection Officer and Project Officer in Northern State, emphasized that prioritizing women’s health and awareness is a fundamental pillar of protecting family and community stability. She noted that coordinated efforts among official institutions, local communities, and medical professionals help expand access to essential services for women and girls in displacement areas and host communities.
She added that the campaign highlighted the importance of health education and encouraging early detection, which can improve the chances of identifying the disease at an early stage and reduce the fears associated with it. She further stressed that women’s health and psychosocial empowerment are integral components of protection and humanitarian response efforts.
The campaign forms part of Addition Organization for Disaster Relief and Development’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community protection, expand health awareness, and provide safe and supportive spaces for women, girls, and children.
